Child labour deprives children of their childhood, their potential, and their dignity – it also is harmful to their physical and mental development.

Despite the various laws and conventions that prohibit child labour in Pakistan, there are approximately 10 million children working. Child labour in Pakistan ranges from light to hazardous work, with many children working in agriculture and domestic labour sectors. Child labour is not only detrimental to a child’s health it also interferes with their education. Working 6 days a week 14 hour a day leaves little room for a child to go to school, forcing many students to drop out.

In this scenario, the Edge Foundation offers aid in the form of scholarships. Scholarships. We believe that a child’s financial states should not prevent them from furthering their education. Preferential treatment is given to those who want to study medicine, law, engineering, and business. We know that these tertiary qualifications will help to benefit communities overall.
