Child labour deprives children of their childhood, their potential, and their dignity – it also is harmful to their physical and mental development.
Despite the various laws and conventions that prohibit child labour in Pakistan, there are approximately 10 million children working. Child labour in Pakistan ranges from light to hazardous work, with many children working in agriculture and domestic labour sectors. Child labour is not only detrimental to a child’s health it also interferes with their education. Working 6 days a week 14 hour a day leaves little room for a child to go to school, forcing many students to drop out.
